We're a peer-led social club built by and for military members and their families right here in the greater New Orleans area. Think of us as your go-to support network, designed to help you connect, thrive, and really feel at home.

How You Can Dive In & Connect
There are so many ways to weave yourself into the fabric of Social Det. and make lasting connections:
- Come to an Event! Join us at our lively Rallies (intentional and fun community events) or drop by a Round-up (our more casual, often member-initiated gatherings, such as coffee meet-ups or park playdates).
- Find Your Crew! Discover like-minded folks by joining a Circle, our interest-based subgroups (think foodies, sports groups, or a network just for parents).
- Stay Connected Online! The Social Loop is your always-on hub. It’s perfect for sharing resources, chatting, coordinating activities, and joining our weekly Monday Musters for quick updates and shout-outs.
- Put the Fun on Repeat! Participate in a Chain, which are awesome recurring Rallies, like our monthly dinner club or a regular fitness group.
- Host Your Own Fun! Feel like sharing an interest? We totally encourage members to host their own Round-ups or small Circle gatherings. It’s a great way to meet new people!
- Lend a Hand! Volunteer some time and skills to help our club run, and you'll deepen your connections even more.
Being a Part of Our Crew (Your Role!)
We keep things flexible and community-driven in our club. Your "obligations" are simply to keep Social Det. a fantastic, positive place:
- Be a Good Neighbor: We kindly ask that everyone follow our friendly community guidelines for both in-person get-togethers and chats on Social Loop. It's all about respect!
- Jump In When You Can: Your participation is totally up to you! Come to events, join groups, or chat online whenever your schedule allows. No pressure, just connection.
- Keep It Welcoming: We're all about creating an inclusive space where everyone feels valued and belongs.
Who keeps the Det. Rolling?
Social Det. is powered by a fantastic volunteer leadership team made up of fellow military spouses and service members. Here are the things we do to guide, support, and help our community flourish:
- Chart Our Course: We help set the direction and ensure Social Det. always feels welcoming and supportive.
- Plan the Fun: We organize our bigger Rallies and lend a hand to folks who want to host their own awesome Round-ups.
- Keep the Loop Lively: We keep the Social Loop running smoothly, ensuring it's a great place for everyone to connect and share.
- Share the Knowledge: We're constantly curating helpful information and resources to make military life in NOLA a little bit easier.
- Bring in the Next Leaders: We love working with volunteers who want to jump in and help make our events and initiatives shine!
